TARGET CHIPPING DRILL
When practicing the target chipping drill, place a few hula hoops accordingly, on the putting green. Position yourself at different distances and test your skills using the appropriate club and swing, as shown in the image above.
BUCKET DRILL
When practicing the bucket drill, position yourself with 10 to 20 balls, approximately 10 to 15 yards from the bucket.
Using your sand wedge, with the appropriate swing, pitch your first ball and see where it lands. Place the bucket at the precise area where your first ball landed.
With the same swing, try to pitch the remaining balls in the bucket, as shown in the images above and below.
CIRCLE PITCHING DRILL
a) In order to practice the circle drill, start by making 2 different size circles with a string, tees or paint on the putting green. One circle will be smaller and will represent the landing zone near the edge of the putting green. The other circle will be bigger representing your intended target area, as shown in the image above.
b) Place a few golf balls in different 5-yard intervals from the landing zone starting at 5 yards, 10 yards, 15 yards, and up to 40 yards.
c) Start by pitching the balls closest to the landing zone. Make your shots in order for the balls to land in the landing zone. Keep in mind that when landing the ball in the landing zone, the ball will keep rolling closer to your target area.
d) For each successful pitch shot, move to the next ball further from the landing zone, and so on, as shown in the image above. If you miss one shot, restart from the beginning. This circle drill challenges you to utilize multiple different types of pitch shots. See how far away from the landing zone you can get before having to restart.
